Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to join our caring team. In this role, you will assist with meal preparation, food service, and the maintenance of a clean and safe kitchen environment. Your efforts will directly contribute to creating a positive dining experience for our residents while adhering to strict food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with meal planning and preparation according to dietary guidelines and recipes
- Serve meals to residents in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food preparation and service
- Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas through regular cleaning and sanitizing
- Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene at all times
- Support the culinary team with slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service and address resident needs
Experience
- Previous experience in dietary assistance, food service, or restaurant environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production
- Experience with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and slicers
- Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with kitchen staff and caregiving teams
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to dietary restrictions or special meal plans
