Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospitality Aide to provide exceptional support and care to residents in long-term care, assisted living, or residential care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior and disability care, with experience in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), medication management, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. As a Hospitality Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing residents' quality of life by delivering personalized assistance with kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Support residents with medication reminders and basic health monitoring, including vital signs when trained and authorized.
- Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to foster mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards within resident rooms, common areas, and care equipment to ensure a safe environment.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and dietary needs while adhering to specific nutritional guidelines for residents.
- Support safe patient lifting practices and manual handling techniques to prevent injury for both residents and staff.
- Document resident interactions accurately in compliance with facility policies and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Perform light housekeeping duties as needed to uphold a clean and comfortable living environment for all residents.
Experience
- Previous assisted living or nursing home experience is highly desirable, especially within geriatrics or memory care settings.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with cognitive disabilities such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures, vital signs monitoring, and basic first aid/CPR certification.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in group home environments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of safe patient lifting practices, manual handling techniques, and infection control protocols.
- Long-term care experience that includes personal care home or retirement home settings is preferred.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals in a respectful manner.
