Overview
Running ‘S’ Equine Veterinary Services is a busy ambulatory and hospital-based equine practice looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. Located in the heart of horse country, our practice is equipped with modern technology and advanced equipment to provide high-quality care for every patient, from retired pasture companions to high-performance athletes.
Our facility includes a full surgical suite, eight-stall hospital, in-clinic procedure room, and fully equipped ambulatory veterinary vehicles. Our technicians have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of the practice, including hospital care, ambulatory appointments, surgery, anesthesia, diagnostics, and in-clinic procedures.

Responsibilities
- Jog and lunge horses for veterinary evaluation (ability to jog approximately 1 mile intermittently)
- Safely restrain horses for examinations and procedures
- Obtain blood samples and prepare tissue and other diagnostic samples
- Perform in-house laboratory testing
- Prepare patients and maintain sterile technique for injections and procedures
- Set up and assist with radiography, ultrasound, and other diagnostic imaging
- Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Clean, maintain, and organize hospital equipment and treatment areas
- Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the veterinary team
- Maintain accurate medical records and hospital billing information
- Assist with intensive care and treatment of critically ill patients
- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous veterinary or veterinary technician experience is preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 2 years of professional equine handling experience required
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with veterinarians, clients, office staff, and fellow technicians
- Enthusiasm for equine veterinary medicine and a willingness to learn
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 8-hour shifts, with opportunities for overtime if desired
- One night shift per week (hours vary based on hospital needs)
- One weekend shift per week (Saturday or Sunday, either 7 AM–4 PM or a night shift)
- Flexible scheduling when possible
Pay: Based on experience
