Responsibilities
- Safely operate non-CDL tractor-trailers equipped for hotshot deliveries, including flatbed, gooseneck trailer.
- Execute route driving plans efficiently, adhering to schedules and delivery deadlines
- Handle freight securely during transit, ensuring proper load securing techniques for flatbed, including loading unloading inoperatable vechiles using winch.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving, delivery routes, or freight transportation with a focus on non-CDL operations
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and various trailer types including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and roll-off trucks
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or hand tools
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to commercial driving and cargo securement standards
- Strong route planning skills for efficient delivery scheduling and time management
- Excellent communication skills for interacting professionally with clients and team members
- Valid driver’s license with relevant endorsements; experience in tractor-trailer or similar heavy vehicle operation preferred
