Empire Truck Sales, one of the largest Freightliner and Western Star heavy truck dealerships in the Southeast, is growing and seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Body Shop Technician to join our team. Key Responsibilities
- Perform body shop repairs, vehicle preparation, and “make-ready” processes for trucks and equipment
- Complete body work in compliance with company standards, manufacturer guidelines, and state/federal regulations
- Repair or replace vehicle components (including panels and structural parts)
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and records
- Inspect work to ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction standards are met
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use shop equipment and tools

Mechanically inclined with the ability to inspect damage, troubleshoot repair needs, and determine effective repair solutions.

1-2 years of previous body shop, collision repair, fabrication, welding, automotive repair, diesel repair, heavy equipment repair, aviation maintenance, or related experience preferred.

Working knowledge of metal repair, panel replacement, dent repair, body filler application, surface preparation, and/or fabrication techniques.

Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and shop machinery.

Ability to read and interpret repair orders, work instructions, and technical specifications.

Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality workmanship, and adherence to safety standards.

Basic computer skills and the ability to use repair documentation or maintenance software.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team; personal tools are preferred.

Experience performing body, collision, structural, frame, or fabrication repairs on commercial trucks, diesel equipment, heavy equipment, automotive vehicles, trailers, or similar equipment.

Welding experience (MIG, TIG, and/or Stick) and familiarity with frame alignment or structural repairs.

Knowledge of Freightliner, Western Star, and other Class 6-8 commercial trucks.

Previous experience in a truck dealership, fleet maintenance operation, collision center, body shop, or heavy equipment repair facility.
