We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Weekend RN Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within a diverse healthcare setting. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily nursing operations, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal patient care delivery across all units.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering professional development and maintaining high team morale.
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
- Manage staffing schedules, assign duties, and monitor workload distribution to meet patient needs effectively.
- Ensure adherence to nursing policies, infection control protocols, and safety standards including sterile technique and catheter care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or Epic; ensure documentation aligns with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, incident investigations, and compliance audits related to long-term care regulations and hospital standards.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with current registration; prior supervisory or management experience required.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Cerner or Athenahealth; familiarity with medical imaging, laboratory experience, and diagnostic evaluation is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, medical terminology, and medical documentation practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage care teams effectively while maintaining excellent communication skills in managerial contexts.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in geriatric settings such as assisted living or memory care is preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, long-term care regulations, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures like suturing or catheterization.
- Competency in IV insertion, medication administration including injection techniques, tube feeding management, ventilator support, and basic life support certification.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, vital signs assessment, specimen collection/processing, and infection control procedures accurately.
