Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment and Truck Mechanic, where your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly and efficiently! In this vital role, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, tractors, and semi's.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractors using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, hydraulic system servicing, suspension adjustments, and tire replacements to ensure optimal performance.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, including automotive diagnostics related to engines, transmissions, air brakes, and electrical wiring.
- Inspect equipment for wear or damage; perform alignments and calibrations to maintain safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery for repairs or upgrades; utilize heavy lifting techniques safely during service procedures.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports; communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair status or technical issues.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and suspension components.
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex machinery issues.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other fabrication tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions; excellent physical stamina required.
- Experience with automotive repair including brake systems, tire service, wheel alignment, electrical diagnostics and vehicle maintenance.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
