Duties
- Operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized vehicles to transport freight across regional routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Plan and follow optimized delivery routes, adjusting for traffic or weather conditions to meet delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each trip, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies to promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for the types of vehicles operated (e.g., manual transmission experience preferred).
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery within a regional setting.
- Familiarity with operating various types of trucks such as flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
- Experience with different freight types including general cargo, refrigerated goods, liquids (tankers), or heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and vehicle maintenance.
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and perform manual tasks associated with loading/unloading freight.
