The firm specializes in structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering and is known for its collaborative culture, technical excellence, and long-term client relationships.
They are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer, PE who enjoys both technical leadership and developing lasting client relationships. This is a fully remote opportunity offering significant autonomy, the ability to lead projects from concept through construction, and the opportunity to help grow an already successful electrical practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering design for commercial building projects from concept through construction administration.
- Design electrical systems including:
- Power Distribution
- Lighting Systems
- Emergency Power
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Telecommunications
- Low Voltage Systems
- Lighting Controls
- Energy Code Compliance
- Coordinate closely with architects, owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Review drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction documents for quality and accuracy.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers.
- Serve as Engineer of Record and seal construction documents when required.
- Attend client meetings and provide technical consultation throughout project execution.
- Support proposal development and project pursuits.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities for repeat business.
- Assist leadership with business development efforts through networking, industry relationships, and client engagement.
- Represent the firm professionally at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 10+ years of consulting engineering experience.
- Strong background designing commercial building electrical systems.
- Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of NEC, IBC, NFPA, and applicable energy codes.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Previous experience managing projects and leading engineering teams is preferred.
- Existing industry relationships and business development experience are highly desirable.
