Data Center Technician
Job description
We are seeking Data Center Technicians for a full-time, long-term opportunity!! You will design and configure data communication systems as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Install, rack, and stack servers, network devices, and other data center equipment.
- Run, route, label, and manage copper and fiber patch cables according to project specifications.
- Perform hardware installations, upgrades, replacements, and decommissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot hardware, cabling, and connectivity issues, and assist in resolving technical problems.
- Conduct equipment testing and verify proper functionality after installation.
- Follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards while working in the data center.
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, including installations, cable labeling, and inventory updates.
- Work collaboratively with team members, project leads, and customers to ensure project milestones are met.
- Report to the job site on time and maintain a professional attitude and strong work ethic.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with data center standards.
- Perform other data center-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (Associate's degree or technical certification preferred).
- Previous experience in a data center, IT support, telecommunications, or related technical field is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and networking concepts.
- Ability to install, rack, and stack servers, switches, and other IT equipment.
