Bankers Equipment, a thriving midsize company (45 employees) is celebrating its 90th years in business this year and is seeking a 'financial controller' to join our management team.
Position Overview
The Controller is responsible for leading the company’s accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. Reporting directly to the President, this role has full ownership of the company’s accounting function, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, payroll oversight, and administrative support functions.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a growing, dynamic organization, offering broad exposure to financial and operational decision-making
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll oversight, and month-end close
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
- Oversee administrative and accounting staff, providing leadership, support, and direction
- Partner with leadership on cash flow management, cost control, and operational efficiency
- Support annual audit/review processes and external reporting requirements
- Oversee payroll and benefits administration in coordination with internal resources
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, preferably in a small to mid-sized company environment
- Experience leading accounting functions and supervising staff
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting processes
- Experience overseeing payroll and benefits administration
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with leadership
- Experience with E-Automate or similar accounting systems is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Total target compensation: Approximately $135,000 (base salary plus performance-based bonus)

Compensation Range: $80K to $120K
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
