We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Support Specialist who enjoys helping people and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Position Summary
As a Support Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting new and existing customers with California Low Cost Auto Insurance Program applications and policy servicing requests. This position focuses on intake of new applications, rewriting existing policies, processing policy changes, collecting documentation, and ensuring information is entered accurately and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with multiple computer systems simultaneously, and able to maintain exceptional attention to detail while managing a high volume of customer interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle 20–50 inbound and outbound customer calls daily while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Assist prospective customers with completing new California Low Cost Auto Insurance Program applications.
- Assist existing policyholders with policy changes, driver additions or removals, vehicle changes, address updates, and other servicing requests.
- Process policy rewrites and determine customer eligibility based on program guidelines.
- Collect, review, and verify required documentation for new business and policy servicing.
- Explain program eligibility requirements, coverage options, and required documentation to customers.
- Accurately enter customer information into the agency CRM, carrier systems, and other software platforms.
- Communicate with insurance carriers regarding policy servicing, underwriting questions, and application processing.
- Document all customer interactions thoroughly and accurately.
- Meet established productivity, quality assurance, and customer service standards.
- Work collaboratively with teammates to ensure timely processing of customer requests.
- Participate in ongoing training and maintain knowledge of California Low Cost Auto Insurance Program guidelines.
Work Environment
This position is best suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume customer service environment, similar to a professional call center.
Successful candidates will be comfortable:
- Wearing a telephone headset throughout the workday.
- Managing 20–50 customer calls each day while maintaining professionalism and efficiency.
- Working with dual computer monitors and navigating multiple software applications simultaneously.
- Using Outlook email, agency CRM software, carrier websites, and other online platforms throughout the day.
- Entering and documenting customer information accurately while actively assisting callers.
- Multitasking efficiently without sacrificing accuracy or customer service.
Attention to detail is imperative. Even small errors can delay application processing or result in incorrect policy information. Accuracy, organization, and efficiency are essential to success in this role.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one year of customer service experience required.
- Insurance or call center experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to quickly learn multiple software applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
