Beyond TalentEdge has a direct hire opportunity for a CAD/CAM Administrator . Our client is a leader in the medical device industry.
This position will carry multiple roles within the IT Department. Primary functions will include acting as the company’s subject matter expert in all things CAD\CAM, the administration for all related software, along with development and maintenance of CAD\CAM standards. Performs CAD\CAM database maintenance and administers the Autodesk Vault system. Maintains licensing and updates for all CAD\CAM related software. IT Support Functions will include providing technical support, advice, and assistance with computer hardware and software system problems. Provide onsite support to modify, install, clean, and repair computer software and hardware. (i.e. desktops, laptops, tablets, and printers).
Responsibilities:
CAD/CAM Administrator II
- Provide user support for CAD/CAM applications and engineering software; assist with Autodesk Vault file management activities.
- Support CAD workstation configuration and deployment.
- Assist with CAD/CAM software installations, updates, and licensing.
- Troubleshoot CAD/CAM and workstation issues.
- Assist in maintaining CAD standards documentation.
- Provide support for file translation and interoperability between CAD systems.
- Assist with drafting standards compliance reviews.
- Provide desktop support for engineering teams as needed.
- Administer Autodesk Vault file management for CAD/CAM files.
- Provide training on CAD file management practices and Autodesk Vault usage.
- Support CAD/CAM application updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Assist with CAD file migrations and system upgrades.
- Maintain CAD workstation standards and configurations.
- Troubleshoot advanced CAD/CAM application issues.
- Support CAD data interoperability and translation processes.
- Maintain CAD/CAM licensing.
- Contribute to drafting standards development and compliance efforts.
- Provide engineering desktop support as required.
CAD/CAM Administrator III
- Administer and maintain the Autodesk Vault environment.
- Lead CAD/CAM software upgrades, migrations, and system changes.
- Develop and maintain company CAD/CAM standards.
- Ensure interoperability between CAD/CAM platforms.
- Evaluate and recommend new CAD/CAM tools, platforms, and add-ons.
- Manage CAD/CAM licensing and software lifecycle activities.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support.
- Develop and deliver training programs for CAD/CAM users.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams.
- Support CAD/CAM and ERP integration initiatives.
- Maintain relationships with CAD/CAM vendors and support partners.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the selection of processes, materials, and vendors related to the CAD/CAM environment.
- Evaluate and recommend new processes, software, and equipment related to the CAD/CAM environment.
- Maintain a strong understanding of computer hardware, including processors, memory, and other internal system components.
- Research new software solutions for CAD/CAM and ERP integration.
- Create and roll out training curricula, technical presentations, and reports.
- Review drawings and DCRs for standards compliance and Vault status as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
CAD/CAM Administrator II
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field with 3–5 years of related experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2–3 years of related experience
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Inventor
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems
- Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Autodesk Vault
- Experience with Inventor and AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of CAM software
- Understanding of machining and fabrication workflows
- Experience supporting engineering environments
CAD/CAM Administrator III
- Associate degree in a related field with 5+ years of related experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 4+ years of related experience
- Expert proficiency with Autodesk Vault
- Advanced proficiency with Inventor and 3D CAD systems
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing workflows and CAM processes
- Experience managing CAD standards and data governance
- Ability to lead system implementations and migrations
Salary:
$92,000 - $112,000
