About the Role
Are you patient, compassionate, and looking to make a genuine difference in the life of a child? We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our specialist elementary team in a small school setting. In this role, you’ll work directly with students who have diverse learning needs (including autism and developmental differences). You’ll help them navigate their school day, stay engaged in learning, and feel safe and celebrated.
What You’ll Do
- 1-on-1 & Small Group Support: Help students engage with reading, math, and daily classroom activities based on their individualized learning plans (IEPs).
- Daily Living Support: Assist students with daily personal care routines (which may include mobility, hygiene/restroom assistance, and mealtimes) with dignity and respect.
- Emotional & Behavioral Encouragement: Help students practice positive social skills and self-regulation using supportive classroom strategies.
- Classroom Partnership: Assist lead teachers with preparing adapted learning materials and celebrating student milestones.

Experience & Skills (Preferred, not required):
- Prior experience in childcare, special education, or early childhood.
- Familiarity with behavior support techniques is a bonus!
- Willingness to learn we are happy to train the right person who brings the right attitude.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent; ability to pass a background check suitable for a school environment.
