Job Overview
Carleton Energy is seeking an energy auditor to conduct energy audit on residential buildings in New York.
The Energy Auditor will inspect buildings to assess current energy use then make recommendations to optimize efficiency and minimize cost.
We are specifically looking for an auditor who is interested in hands-on field testing and commissioning as the role will be >50% field work.
Key Responsibilities :
· Work autonomously to lead and perform the energy audits supporting Local Law 87 and own the final deliverables.
· Work with facilities management team to acquire needed information for HVAC systems, estimate savings and conservation measure viability.
· Address energy deficiencies and recommend possible energy conservations elements through a retro commissioning list to be submitted to clients.
· Effectively resolve challenges faced with clients/contractors/evaluators/governing entities to address deficiencies and/or inconsistencies in calculations and/or policy adherence.
· Independently Produce high quality assessment reports according to templates, standards and present the results to regulatory agencies and clients
· Work with energy team and project managers to track and implement various energy efficiency measures
Qualifications :
· Excellent interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to work very well with site client leadership and site facilities personnel
· Excellent time management and organizational skills
· At Least two years of related experience.
· Experience with all industrial HVAC, boilers, lighting, cooling towers, chillers, pumps, air handlers, split systems , optimizing building automation systems (BMS), and other energy efficiency measures.
· Solid knowledge and experience to recognize and recommend various types of energy efficiency measures including Low Cost measures as well as capital retrofit and equipment replacement measures.
· Field experience in independently conducting energy audits and verification inspections.
· Performed energy audits/retro-commissioning for Local Law 87 compliance, ASRAE Level 1 and 2 Energy Audits.
· Degree in engineering, technology, energy systems, or other related field preferred, but not required
· Certified Energy Manager, Certified Energy Auditor, or other relevant credential required or in pursuit within six months of hiring.
