Braen Stone Industries, the leading supplier of construction materials including stone, sand, asphalt, septic materials, recycled materials and agricultural limestone, is currently seeking a Plant Maintenance Laborer for our Sparta Asphalt Plant.
We are a safety minded company and expect the successful candidate to be as well. This position is hourly, non-exempt from overtime. Overtime is paid after 8 hours are worked each day. After a probationary period of sixty (60) days, the employee will be required to join Local #472. Medical/Dental/Vision benefits are provided through Local #472 after Union waiting period is satisfied.

Safety Sensitive Position
Laborers at Braen Stone are expected to safely work together as a team to move, secure, install, load and unload materials with accuracy. It is important for laborers to communicate with each other to meet all production/sales/customer needs while always following the Company’s core values of Service, Integrity and Respect.
Expectations:
-
Complete daily maintenance of the asphalt plant; greasing of bearings, adjusting belts, checking of fuel levels

Assist in loading out trucks
-
Will be cross trained to operate equipment
-
General quarry/asphalt and maintenance work, laboring in various areas of need
-
Complete miscellaneous jobs according to business needs
Required Knowledge/Skills/Aptitudes:
-
Ability to establish effective working relationships with fellow employees and supervisors
-
Must be safety minded
-
Mechanically inclined and welding capabilities a plus
-
Willingness to learn new tasks and communicate with team members via radio
Physical Demands:
-
Standing for prolonged periods of time, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, crouch/crawl
-
Minimal to light level of lifting is required
-
Ability to perform job-related functions at elevated heights
- Climb steps and perform manual activity for long periods of time
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Hours of work will alternate between the day shift (6am - 4pm) and the night-shift (4pm – 5am) Monday through Friday. Saturday hours will be required.

Work is performed outdoors in all weather condition

Periodical exposure to high levels of noise, grease & dust
Pay: $22.15- $23.15
