Overview
We are seeking a motivated, results-driven Clinical Research Recruiter / Patient Recruitment Specialist to identify and recruit qualified participants for current and upcoming clinical trials.
The primary focus of this position is making a high volume of outbound recruiting calls, engaging potential participants, conducting initial pre-screening, and converting qualified leads into scheduled screening appointments.
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who is confident on the phone, persistent with follow-up, comfortable working with patient databases and EHR systems, and motivated by achieving recruitment and enrollment goals.
Key Responsibilities
· Make a high volume of outbound recruiting calls to potential clinical trial participants.
· Follow up consistently with patient leads by phone, text, and email.
· Conduct initial patient pre-screening based on study-specific eligibility criteria.
· Schedule qualified participants for clinical trial screening appointments.
· Re-engage previous patients and potential participants for appropriate current and future studies.
· Work with Electronic Health Record (EHR) databases, CTMS systems, and internal patient databases to identify potential study candidates.
· Perform approved database searches based on study eligibility criteria.
· Maintain accurate documentation of calls, patient contacts, recruitment status, and follow-up activities.
· Track recruiting activity, appointments, screening conversions, and enrollment results.
· Work closely with Clinical Research Coordinators and site leadership to meet study enrollment goals.
· Conduct outreach calls to physician offices and other potential referral sources.
· Assist with community outreach and social media recruitment initiatives as needed.
· Develop creative strategies for recruiting participants for challenging studies.
· Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy and clinical research requirements.
Qualifications
· 3+ years of recruiting, clinical research, healthcare, call center, medical sales, or similar high-volume telephone experience preferred.
· Clinical research patient recruitment experience is highly desirable.
· Healthcare, medical, or science background preferred.
· Strong telephone communication skills and confidence making a high volume of outbound calls.
· Proven ability to follow up consistently and achieve recruiting, enrollment, appointment, or sales goals.
· Experience working with EHR systems, patient databases, CTMS, CRM, or similar database systems preferred.
· Ability to understand clinical study eligibility requirements and accurately pre-screen potential participants.
· Strong computer and database-search skills.
· Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
· Self-motivated, persistent, energetic, and goal-oriented.
· Ability to manage recruiting activities for multiple clinical trials simultaneously.
What We Are Looking For
This is a hands-on recruiting position. A significant portion of each day will be spent making recruiting calls, following up with potential participants, reviewing patient databases and EHR records, and scheduling qualified candidates for study screenings.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working toward measurable recruitment goals and will take ownership of leads from initial identification and contact through the scheduled screening appointment.
Success will be measured by recruiting call activity, qualified candidates identified, screening appointments scheduled, conversion rates, enrollment results, and consistent follow-up with potential participants.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $64,999.33 per year
