Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Seasonal Immunization Pharmacist to join our healthcare team during peak immunization periods. Duties
- Administer immunizations and vaccines following proper aseptic techniques and medical protocols
- Conduct patient assessments to determine eligibility for immunizations and identify any contraindications
- Maintain accurate documentation of vaccinations administered in electronic health record (EHR) systems and pharmacy software
- Ensure compliance with all pharmaceutical regulatory standards such as USP 797 guidelines for sterile compounding
- Provide patient education on vaccine benefits, potential side effects, and post-immunization care
- Manage inventory levels of vaccines and medications, ensuring proper storage and expiration tracking
- Adhere to state and federal pharmacy laws, healthcare compliance policies, and clinical confidentiality regulations (HIPAA)
Qualifications
- Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the applicable state or jurisdiction
- Proven pharmacy experience, preferably with LTC (Long-Term Care) or hospital settings, including critical care or acute care environments
- Experience in immunizations, medical management, and patient service delivery
- Knowledge of pharmacy information systems (PIS), EMR/EHR systems, and drug regulation policies
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and trained in aseptic technique and IV infusion procedures
- Familiarity with USP 797 standards for sterile compounding and pharmacy regulatory compliance
- Ability to perform medication administration accurately while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
- Experience with inventory management, IV insertion, pain management protocols, and pharmacy technician collaboration is preferred
