- Complete required paperwork, lesson planning, prepare materials and the environment, and negotiating requires teachers to have strong management skills
- Nurture children in all aspects of development: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. In every interaction, a teacher should nurture appropriate growth and development.
- Must be able to communicate with many people throughout the day; parents, children, support staff, the general public, and administrators. Early childhood teachers must be prepared to communicate with all these people.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Must be 21+years old
- Must be prepared to undergo medical examination, drug test, and background check
- High School Diploma, certificate of high school equivalency or successful completion of college courses for credit
- One year of experience working with preschoolers in an approved setting, or one year of college (30 semester hours), or a combination of experience and college that equals one year
