Overview
To provide instrumental music for the Traditional worship services and musical rehearsal times in the life of the church. Additionally, to provide music for weddings, funerals, and special services as requested by the Pastor or Choir Director.
Responsibilities
- To live a lifestyle consistent with the Christian Ministry and worthy of the calling of Christ.
- To provide instrumental music at designated worship services, including prelude, postlude, accompaniment of hymns, soloists and the choir; and any other music as shall be directed by the Choir Director.
- Accompany the choir at choir rehearsals unless otherwise instructed by the Choir Director.
- Provide music at weddings, funerals, and any other special serices as directed by the Pastor.
- To spend adequate time in weekly preparation and practice in order to present a quality performance in public services. To be familar with the weekly hymns and special music prior to arrial on Sunday.
- Attend the staff meetings.
- To be adequately prepared to present instrumental music in worship in a quality and professional manner.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a church organist or similar role, demonstrating excellent keyboard skills and musical versatility.
- Ability to read sheet music fluently and improvise when necessary
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clergy, choir members, and congregation leaders.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and during special church events.
- A passion for spiritual music and a commitment to enhancing worship through inspiring musical leadership.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
