Job Summary
Enriched Learning Academy is seeking a warm, dependable, and experienced Toddler/Preschool Teacher to help lead a NEW mixed-age classroom serving toddlers and preschool-aged children.
Because this classroom includes children from both age groups, applicants must be EEC Teacher Certified in both Infant/Toddler and Preschool.
About the Position
This teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
The position will primarily focus on leading our new toddler/preschool classroom on designated days. On the remaining days, the teacher may support another classroom based on enrollment and program needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who enjoys working with mixed-age groups, understands the developmental differences between toddlers and preschoolers, and can create meaningful learning experiences for children at multiple developmental levels.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for toddlers and preschoolers
- Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment
- Adapt activities to meet the individual needs and developmental levels of each child
- Support children’s social-emotional, language, cognitive, physical, and self-help development
- Complete observations, assessments, and required classroom documentation
- Maintain consistent classroom routines while remaining responsive to children’s needs
- Provide active supervision at all times
- Communicate professionally and positively with families
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and program leadership
- Maintain an organized, clean, and licensing-compliant classroom
- Follow all Massachusetts EEC regulations and Enriched Learning Academy policies
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts EEC Infant/Toddler Teacher Certification
- Massachusetts EEC Preschool Teacher Certification
- Previous experience working with toddlers and preschool-aged children
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Ability to manage a mixed-age classroom with patience, warmth, and consistency
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to complete all required background checks
- Current or obtainable First Aid and CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Lead Teacher certification
- Experience planning curriculum for mixed-age classrooms
- Experience completing child observations and developmental assessments
- Familiarity with Massachusetts Early Learning Standards
- Associate degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field
