American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Newborn Nursery position at an acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Level 1 & 2 nursery setting background.

Work in the Newborn Nursery unit of a 286-bed acute care hospital
-
Level III Trauma facility
-
Patient ratio of 1:6
-
Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirement, though this is subject to change based on unit needs
-
Floating within the women's area of the facility may be required
-
Charting performed in Epic
-
Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license; must be in hand prior to start (SC license prioritized, pending SC license may be considered)

Current AHA certifications required: BLS and NRP
-
STABLE certification highly preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of nursery RN experience required
-
Level 1 & 2 nursery setting experience required
-
Must be comfortable with delivery to discharge care

Experience with Level 2 nursery interventions including phototherapy, antibiotics, opioid withdrawal management, and bubble CPAP required

Charge nurse experience preferred

SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Previous permanent staff or PRN employees of the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs

Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
-
Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Online modules are completed prior to the assignment start date

Royal blue scrubs required

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
