Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment following established protocols
- Manage inventory of sterile supplies, ensuring accurate tracking and timely replenishment
- Prepare instrument trays and packages for surgical procedures, verifying completeness and sterility
- Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory logs
- Assist with the inspection of instruments for damage or wear, reporting any issues for repair or replacement
- Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during processing activities
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure readiness of sterile supplies for procedures
- Follow all safety guidelines and infection control policies to uphold a sterile environment
Skills
- Strong understanding of sterile processing principles and practices
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures
- Familiarity with medical terminology used in hospital settings
- Expertise in inventory management systems for tracking supplies and equipment
- Proficiency in aseptic technique to maintain sterility during handling and processing
