We are looking for a Payroll and Benefits Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll and benefits administration for all employees. This role serves as a primary point of contact for payroll and benefits inquiries, supports regulatory compliance, and maintains confidential employee records with the highest level of integrity. The Payroll and Benefits Specialist also provides training to new managers on payroll, benefits and new hire procedures. This position is based entirely on-site in our Madison, Wisconsin office.
Responsibilities
- Process new hire paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Maintain and update employee information including address and tax changes, direct deposit changes, and other payroll related updates.
- Process payroll deductions for equipment, garnishments and benefits.
- Respond to employment verification requests and unemployment
- Administer and act as main point of contact for employee benefit programs.
- Monitor changes in payroll and benefits laws, regulations and best practices. Recommend updates as appropriate.
- Assist in the development and implementation of payroll and benefits policies and procedures.
- Train new managers on new hire paperwork and onboarding, as well as benefit programs and administrative requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher in Human Resources, Accounting, Business administration or related field preferred
- 2-4 years payroll or benefits administration required
- Experience with payroll systems strongly preferred
- Experience processing garnishments, child support orders and payroll deductions required
- Experience in administering various benefit plans preferred
- Experience in a Multi-Location environment a plus.
