Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments of students’ speech, language, and communication skills using standardized tools and clinical observations
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s unique needs, focusing on speech therapy goals and progress tracking
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions that incorporate evidence-based techniques to improve articulation, fluency, voice, and language comprehension
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate interventions and support student success in the classroom environment
- Monitor student progress regularly, adjusting therapy approaches as needed to ensure continuous improvement
- Educate staff and families about speech development milestones, strategies for supporting communication at home and school
- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and compliance with all relevant regulations
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or equivalent licensure for school-based practice
- Prior experience working with pediatric populations in educational or clinical settings, especially within a school environment
- Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy related to speech production, and medical terminology relevant to speech disorders
- Proven ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and interpret results accurately
- Familiarity with early intervention techniques for young children demonstrating speech or language delays
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare professionals
