Key Project Requirements:
- Proven experience leading EPC projects from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning, and startup within the power generation, renewable energy, energy storage, oil & gas, or other industrial sectors.
- Strong working knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, contractor management, risk mitigation, and project controls using tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders while traveling approximately 50% (one week per month to the project site and one week per month to the corporate office).
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of complex industrial capital projects from engineering through commercial operation. This role will oversee EPC contractors, engineering teams, vendors, and project stakeholders while maintaining project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives. The ideal candidate has a strong background delivering large-scale industrial or power generation projects and is comfortable managing multiple phases of project execution in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of industrial capital projects from engineering and design through construction, commissioning, startup, and project closeout.
- Manage EPC contractors, engineering consultants, vendors, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and project forecasts.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, construction packages, and Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation.
- Identify project risks, critical path activities, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project objectives.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide regular project status updates to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience managing large industrial EPC projects from concept through startup.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, contractor management, and risk management.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar scheduling software.
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% to project and corporate locations.
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- 8+ years of project management experience supporting industrial, power generation, renewable energy, energy storage (BESS), chemical, or oil & gas projects.
- Experience leading EPC contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- PMP certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Experience working for an owner, developer, or EPC contractor is highly desirable.
