Description:
Anivas Tech is seeking a Control-M Workload Automation Engineer to support our government agency IT operations. We are looking for a skilled professional with 10+ years of relevant experience who brings strong technical expertise and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a mission-driven, high-visibility environment.
Requirements:
- Administer, operate, and optimize the BMC Control-M workload automation platform supporting government agency batch processing and job scheduling operations

Design, develop, and maintain job flows, scheduling calendars, and automation scripts within Control-M to support mission-critical business processes

Analyze business requirements and translate them into automated workflow solutions using Control-M capabilities

Monitor batch job execution, proactively identify failures, and lead root cause analysis and resolution efforts

Perform Control-M environment upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes in accordance with change management procedures

Collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to integrate new workloads into the Control-M scheduling environment

Develop and maintain documentation including job flow designs, runbooks, and operational procedures

Implement and enforce workload automation standards, naming conventions, and governance processes

Support capacity planning and performance tuning of the Control-M environment to meet batch SLAs

Provide training and guidance to team members and stakeholders on Control-M usage and best practices

US citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; 5 additional years of relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree

10+ years of hands-on experience with BMC Control-M workload automation in a production environment

Deep knowledge of Control-M job scheduling, calendars, conditions, resources, and event-driven automation

Experience administering Control-M Server, Agent, and EM components across multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, mainframe)

Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Python, or PowerShell) for automation and job development

Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex batch scheduling failures under time pressure

Solid understanding of batch processing dependencies, SLA management, and workload balancing

Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder and leadership engagement

BMC Control-M certification or equivalent vendor training

Experience in a federal government IT environment

Agile or SAFe delivery methodology experience

Experience integrating Control-M with CI/CD pipelines or DevOps toolchains

Familiarity with cloud workload scheduling and Control-M Managed File Transfer (MFT) capabilities
