Part-Time Orthopaedic Oncology Physician Assistant

Position Overview
We are an orthopaedic surgical practice specializing in oncology and complex joint reconstruction, seeking a part-time Physician Assistant to work closely with our orthopaedic surgeon in providing high-quality patient care. This is an excellent opportunity for a PA who is interested in orthopaedics and looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, one-on-one clinical environment.
Orthopaedic and surgical experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate, including a new graduate or PA with limited experience who is highly motivated to learn and grow within the specialty.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgeon with evaluation and treatment of new and follow-up orthopaedic patients
- Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
- Assist with patient education and communication
- Order and review appropriate diagnostic testing and imaging
- Perform or assist with in-office procedures as training and experience allow
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care
- Document patient visits accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
- Coordinate with the physician and office staff to ensure continuity of patient care
- Communicate with patients regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and questions
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current or eligible for Pennsylvania and New Jersey Physician Assistant licensure
- NCCPA certification or eligibility
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a small-practice environment
- Willingness to learn orthopaedic clinical skills and procedures
- Ability to work independently as experience develops while collaborating closely with the supervising physician
- Orthopaedic and surgical experience is strongly preferred.
