Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production & Supply Chain Manager to oversee our Purchasing and Production Planning teams. This position is responsible for improving communication, accountability, and efficiency across these functions while ensuring materials and products move through the organization efficiently and on schedule.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with experience in aerospace or manufacturing operations who can coach employees, strengthen supplier performance, improve workflows, and help resolve production and material-related challenges.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor the Purchasing and Production Planning teams.
- Evaluate and improve workflows, communication, accountability, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate priorities and communication among Purchasing, Production Planning, Production, and other departments.
- Help resolve supplier delivery issues, production delays, quality concerns, material shortages, and other constraints.
- Participate in production, scheduling, purchasing, and management meetings.
- Develop and analyze production and supply chain performance metrics.
- Assist with production priorities and recovery plans for critical customer orders.
- Provide operational guidance and workload support to Production Planners, Expeditors, and Purchasing personnel.
- Build strong supplier relationships and promote collaboration among internal departments.
- Assist with logistics coordination and shipping priorities as needed to meet customer commitments.
- Train to review and approve requisitions
Qualifications
- Significant experience in aerospace or manufacturing operations, supply chain management, production planning, purchasing, or operations leadership.
- Demonstrated success leading teams and improving manufacturing processes, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team-development skills.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, production planning, purchasing, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and lead cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence is preferred.
Software
We use an ERP system in addition to Microsoft Office Suite. The successful candidate will be trained in the use of our ERP software.
