Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipe Welder to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding pipe systems according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Your expertise will ensure the integrity and safety of piping installations across various projects, contributing to the successful completion of complex mechanical and metal fabrication tasks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing advanced welding techniques and mechanical knowledge to deliver high-quality results.
Duties
- Prepare pipes and fittings by measuring, cutting, threading, and fitting components using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
- Perform welding operations including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW or MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) on various metal materials such as sheet metal and pipe sections.
- Ensure all welds meet American Welding Society (AWS) standards by adhering to safety protocols, shop math calculations, and quality control procedures.
- Operate cranes and other lifting equipment safely when handling heavy pipe sections or fabricated assemblies on construction sites.
- Maintain detailed records of welding activities, inspection reports, and quality assurance documentation throughout each project phase.
Qualifications
- Proven construction site experience with a strong background in metal fabrication and pipe welding.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints.
- Skilled in various welding techniques including SMAW, GMAW (MIG), TIG, FCAW, with certification
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipe
- Experience operating cranes, power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and hand tools safely.
- Strong understanding of welding standards established by the American Welding Society (AWS).
- Knowledge of basic math skills necessary for fabrication calculations and measurements.
- Excellent mechanical fabrication skills with a focus on quality workmanship in sheet metal fabrication and piping systems.
- Must have at lest an OSHA 10
