We are seeking a dynamic and organized Quad C Physical Therapy Receptionist to join our dedicated healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients, visitors, and staff with enthusiasm, providing outstanding customer service at the front desk
- Manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems via Prompt
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures for Medicare, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing processes
- Collect and process payments, co-pays, and outstanding balances accurately using medical collection protocols
- Maintain and update patient records in EMR systems ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
- Assist with intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and updating care plans in the system
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and courteously
- Support medical administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document review
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely documentation review and accurate medical records management
- Facilitate office management duties including appointment reminders, patient follow-up calls, and office supply inventory
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical receptionist role within a clinic or healthcare setting, preferably in physical therapy
- Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and insurance verification processes
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and strong communication abilities
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
- Prior experience with dental terminology or hospital experience is a plus but not required
- Strong clerical skills including filing, data entry and multi-line phone operation
