Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dishwashing using commercial-grade equipment, ensuring all utensils, cookware, and tableware are sanitized and ready for use
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas in accordance with sanitation standards
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and assisting with the setup of dining areas for service
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures consistently to prevent contamination and uphold health regulations
- Handle manual tasks including heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, and trash disposal safely and efficiently
- Operate kitchen equipment responsibly while adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and kitchen health and safety standards
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper technique
- Familiarity with food safety management principles and sanitizing procedures
- Strong knife skills or willingness to develop them through training is a plus
- Experience in catering or banquet settings is advantageous but not mandatory
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to serve in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
