POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Business Development provides leadership and strategic direction for sales activities related to the assigned region. Develops and executes short and long-term strategic plans for sales to achieve desired performance and optimal customer satisfaction exceeding company goals. Grows OmniTRAX’s revenues and margins across the broad portfolio of solution and service offerings in assigned region.
The Director of Business Development demonstrates and adheres to the company values of safety, honesty, ownership, respect, and teamwork to ensure successful partnership with customers and employees that result in OmniTRAX’s continued success.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote OmniTRAX products and services: increase product and account penetration with existing and new customers in assigned regions
- Maximize local and corporate resources to ensure revenue growth (leadership, operations, etc.): maximize customer satisfaction
- Primary lead on selling all services to qualified customers and to meet assigned region targets
- Share selling responsibilities with SVP of Business Development for growth and retention on assigned railroad lines
- Oversee car storage and storage in transit initiative across portfolio of railroads
- Drive transload development and growth to meet business strategic objectives
- Develop contact list per account: 3 contacts each within multiple departments
- Serve as role model demonstrating positive and professional demeanor at all times
- Build senior level relationships with key customers and prospects: manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
OTHER DUTIES
- Routinely monitor and maintain account profiles held in assigned region on semi-annual basis
- Work flexible hours to meet customer and business needs
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
- 5 + years’ business development experience within transportation industry
- Strong project management skills
- Exceptional customer service skills; build and maintain relationships with decision makers
- Knowledge of business and financial analysis; analytics and quantitative skills
- Time management: work under pressure and tight constraints to meet deadlines and business objectives
- Presentation experience to larger diverse audiences
- Working knowledge of pricing and costing
- Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
- Experience leveraging data and analytics to drive internal and customer value
- Strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively converse with all levels of the company, customers, and business associates
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced skills in Excel
- Professional integrity and accountability
- Work in fast-paced, collaborative environment
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Previous experience in Rail Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing and/or Oil and Gas industries
- MBA
- Working business development experience in railroads
- Preference for bilingual in Spanish and English

COMPENSATION
- Estimated Starting Annual Salary: $119,437.00
- Exact starting salary is determined by merit; seniority; geographic location; education, training, and/or experience related to job duties and responsibilities.
