Candidates should demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:
Minimum three years’ experience in design/marketing environment with a significant focus on print
Degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related area
Hands-on experience and proficient working knowledge in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office
Proficient on Apple/MAC
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Exceptional customer-service and team-participation skills
Must be able to multitask and meet challenging deadlines
Solid grasp of design concepts and typography
Strong organizational and communication skills
Basic knowledge of photography
Have an eye for detail
Have the imagination to create and try out-of-the-box concepts and ideas
This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conceptualize, design, and develop layouts for each issue of magazine based on editorial concepts and theme of magazine
Work together with editorial team to build concepts and ideas
Prepare magazines for print
Work within set brand standards
Work with photographers, models and editors to organize and, on occasion, supervise photo shoots
Work with sales reps and clients in completing ad concepts for magazine ads
Work with marketing team in creating new campaigns and elements for magazine brand and working on branding/promotions/inside ads
Conceptualize and create marketing and promotional pieces
Design digital pieces and advertisements and prepare for web use
Research out of box ideas and implement new concepts
Construct photo-shoot backdrops, crafts, props, etc. as needed
