Program Facilitator (Seasonal)
Part-Time | Approximately 8–10 hours/week | Seasonal (Fall & Spring)
Starting Pay: $22/hour
Pay Progression: Program Facilitators are eligible for a $0.50/hour increase for each continued program term, up to $23/hour, based on continued eligibility and program needs.
Location: Greater Phoenix Area (in person at assigned program sites)
Anticipated Start: Late August/early September
Program Term: Fall term, approximately September - December
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Job Summary
Read Better Be Better is seeking a Program Facilitator to deliver our Pathway to Civic Leadership program for high school students.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people, facilitating meaningful conversations, and creating engaging learning experiences. As the primary RBBB representative during program sessions, you'll help students strengthen their leadership skills, civic awareness, and confidence while creating a safe, supportive environment where they can grow.
What You'll Do (Top Responsibilities)

Facilitate engaging Pathway to Civic Leadership program sessions for high school participants

Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that encourages leadership development and active participation

Build positive relationships with participants while supporting engagement and program retention

Complete required attendance, surveys, and program documentation

Collaborate with RBBB staff to deliver a high-quality and consistent program experience
A Day in the Life
In a typical week, you might facilitate interactive leadership activities, guide discussions about civic engagement, welcome a community guest speaker, encourage students as they work through group activities, and complete attendance and program documentation after each session. You'll work closely with your Program Manager and fellow facilitators to create meaningful experiences that help young people develop as leaders in their schools and communities.
Key Qualifications
Required
- Experience facilitating, mentoring, teaching, coaching, leading, or supporting groups of youth, young adults, or community members

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Valid Arizona driver's license (or ability to obtain prior to start) and reliable transportation to assigned program sites

Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card (or ability to obtain prior to start) and successful completion of a Department of Child Safety (AZDCS) Central Registry check

Ability to create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Preferred
- Experience working with high school-aged participants

Experience in education, youth development, civic engagement, or nonprofit settings

Interest in leadership development and community engagement
