General Function
This position is responsible for the coordination and provision of services to homeless and foster young adults related to employment and benefits. This position will ensure that the employment and income needs of the youth are met through day to day operations. The Employment and Benefits Coach is responsible for conducting initial assessments, teaching employment sessions on various topics, and monitoring program participation on income goals. This position is responsible for ensuring clients are receiving skills trainings and providing employment support including job placements, and instructing financial literacy. The overall goals of the position are to increase income and reduce barriers to maintain stable housing.
Primary Responsibilities
Facilitates education, employment, and life skill acquisition through the day to day operations of the program;
Assist Case Manager in monitoring goals assigned to documents at least monthly progress toward those goals.
- Writes daily case notes on all service provided that day.
- Teach employment related classes or sessions to a range of youth at the STRIVE Center or other office.
- Coordinate services within the community or other agency/program environments.
- Complete employment assessments on intake, exit, and as otherwise assigned per the assessment schedule.
- Ensure absolute confidentiality with respect to information records concerning clients.
- Adheres to all Safe Harbor and program policies and procedures as required.
- Participates in team meetings and staff training as required.
Assists each client to attain/maintain employment;
- Create local employer partnerships to assist clients in immediate employment opportunities
- Assist clients in developing career interests and rapid employment searches
- Work with eligible clients to practice soft skills, and financial literary
Assists each client to pursue relevant educational opportunities related to improving income;
- Facilitate connections to educational resources/agencies
- Support clients to navigate educational processes to enroll or maintain continued learning
Assists each client to attain/maintain financial literacy skills;
- Assist clients to develop a budget and document resident progress toward earnings, spending and savings.
- Assist clients to gain financial literacy to improve individual credit, evaluate financial contracts, and navigate personal banking and income taxes.
Assists clients to increase overall income by facilitating applications for benefits including SNAP, CAPS, WIC, Medicaid, SSI/SSDI, TANF, GRA, and other local non-profit resource assistance when needed.
Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, from time to time, as related to the position.

Qualifications
- Preferred: Work experience with teaching and modeling skills to a group and individuals Required: Work experience with youth or young adults
- Some college work in the area of Education, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong Computer Skills and the ability to navigate software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Reports to: Assigned Case Manager and/or Program Director for Transitional Living Program
