About Us
Hello Vet isn’t your typical veterinary clinic—we’re modern, community-focused, and proud to be the only Fear Free Certified practice in the Willamette Valley. Our team creates stress-free visits for pets and a welcoming environment for their people, all while providing the highest standard of care.
We thrive on positivity, teamwork, and a shared passion for helping animals live their healthiest lives. We’re growing and looking for a skilled and compassionate Doctor’s Assistant to join our close-knit team in this primarily client-facing, administrative support role.
This role also requires strong veterinary assistant skills and the flexibility to step into a Veterinary Assistant role when clinic needs require it.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
✅ Fear Free Focus – Help create calm, positive experiences for pets and their owners.
✅ Client-Centered Role – Build relationships with clients by guiding them through their pet’s treatment plan and care journey.
✅ Collaborative Team – Work alongside a supportive group of veterinarians, assistants, and client care specialists.
✅ Community Connection – Be part of a team that actively participates in local events and outreach.
✅ Skill Variety – Maintain and utilize your veterinary assistant skills as part of a dynamic, team-based environment.
What You’ll Do
This position is approximately 80% client care and administrative work and 20% patient care, with the expectation that you are trained and capable of performing veterinary assistant duties and may serve in that capacity when clinic coverage or patient care needs require it.
You’ll act as the bridge between the doctor, the client, and the medical record—keeping information accurate, organized, and meaningful.
Key Responsibilities
Client Communication & Education – Review doctor recommendations with clients, build treatment plans, discuss benefits, and ensure understanding before discharge.
Medical Records & Documentation – Scribe during appointments and maintain complete, detailed, and accurate records that reflect each patient’s visit.
Administrative Support – Prepare invoices, add educational materials, and process payments.
Follow-Ups & Callbacks – Contact clients regarding lab results, updates, or recheck reminders.
DVM Workflow Coordination – Help manage the doctor’s daily flow to ensure visits run smoothly.
Patient Care & Veterinary Assistant Support – Assist with administering treatments, restraint, patient preparation, and general patient care. This position requires maintaining veterinary assistant competency and stepping into a Veterinary Assistant role as needed to support clinic operations.
