Commercial Planning & Business Management Manager – ESS Utility (KOREAN BILINGUAL MUST)
Location: Ridgefield, NJ (On-site / Full-time)
Department: ESS Solution Sales & Commercial Strategy
Reports To: Head of ESS Business Unit / Director of Business Planning
Role Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Commercial Planning & Business Management Manager to act as the strategic and financial control tower for our utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) business in North America. Moving entirely away from routine back-office sales administration, this senior analytical role drives the overarching business planning lifecycle, mid-to-long-term revenue projections, risk-adjusted pricing governance, and bottom-line margin optimization.
Positioned at the critical hub of commercial execution and corporate finance, the successful candidate will serve as the premier liaison anchoring regional functions (Sales, Project Finance, SCM, Engineering, Legal) and aligning them with global Corporate Headquarters (HQ) directives to maximize the profitability of complex energy storage portfolios.
Core Responsibilities1. Corporate Business Planning & Predictive Analytics
- Strategic Target Setting: Orchestrate the formulation of quarterly, fiscal year, and multi-year commercial business plans, setting quantitative operational benchmarks for the North American energy storage division.
- Pipeline Intelligence & Forecasting: Architect and maintain advanced predictive models for bookings and revenue generation, tracking the end-to-end BESS project lifecycle from initial pipeline discovery to Notice to Proceed (NTP).
- Corporate & HQ Communications: Transform complex, high-volume commercial pipeline metrics into highly structured, executive-grade financial performance packages tailored for regional C-suite leadership and overseas global HQ.
2. Commercial Governance & Portfolio Profitability
- Dynamic Pricing Architecture: Oversee and govern the centralized commercial pricing framework encompassing BESS hardware (cells, enclosures), PCS/EMS software, extended warranties, and comprehensive O&M agreements.
- Financial Risk Simulation: Conduct deep-dive economic stress testing and sensitivity analyses—interpreting fluctuating asset metrics ($IRR$, $NPV$, $LCOE$)—to insulate project profitability against macroeconomic supply chain and raw material headwinds.
- Deal Risk Mitigation: Critically evaluate and validate complex pro forma financial models, transactional term sheets, and multi-megawatt RFP bid strategies prior to final executive sign-off.
3. Cross-Functional Synergy & Cross-Border Alignment
- Bilingual Strategy Liaison: Capitalize on absolute fluency in English and Korean to ensure seamless, real-time synchronization between regional operational performance and global corporate mandate/governance standards.
- Deal Velocity Optimization: Drive accountability and accelerate transaction velocity across multi-disciplinary squads (Sales, Engineering, SCM, Finance, Legal) to streamline contract management lifecycles (NDAs, MSAs, EPC/Supply Agreements).
- Enterprise Data Integrity: Champion business-side data stewardship to integrate CRM and ERP architectures, ensuring flawless data lifecycle accuracy for inventory allocation, margin tracking, and financial close.
Candidate Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a highly quantitative analytical discipline.
- Professional Experience: 3 to 5+ years of progressive professional tenure in Corporate Planning, Commercial Management, Business Strategy, or Infrastructure Project Finance. Experience must be rooted in the renewable energy, cleantech, or heavy industrial technology ecosystems.
- Domain Expertise: Prior hands-on familiarity with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), hybrid solar-plus-storage applications, or large-scale grid power infrastructure is exceptionally advantageous.
- Advanced Analytics: Elite proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling; proven capability to construct sophisticated forecasting dashboards and evaluate complex P&L frameworks under volatile variables.
- Linguistic Excellence: Native or professional bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is mandatory. Must possess the capability to draft formal business reports and confidently present strategic narratives to executive management both locally and at global HQ.
- Logistics: Commitment to full-time, on-site presence at the regional office in Ridgefield, NJ.
