Receiving Coordinator – Position Summary
The Receiving Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient, accurate, and safe handling of all inbound materials and warehouse receiving operations. This role leads the receiving team and oversees the inspection, documentation, and storage of incoming shipments, while maintaining high standards of inventory accuracy, safety, and customer service.
This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment, has a strong attention to detail, and is passionate about driving operational excellence and team performance.
Sign-On Bonus: Receive a $500 bonus after 90 days of successful employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the warehouse receiving team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Ensure timely and accurate receipt of all incoming materials and shipments
- Unload deliveries, verify shipment contents, and inspect for damage or discrepancies
- Compare received goods against purchase orders, packing lists, and specifications; document and report variances
- Accurately record and maintain receiving documentation and inventory records
- Communicate with carriers and vendors to resolve shortages, damages, or discrepancies
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Oversee returns processing and maintain quarantine logs for non-conforming materials
- Coordinate bin replenishment and inventory flow from overstock locations
- Train, coach, and supervise team members to improve productivity and performance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment
- Support additional warehouse operations as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a warehouse or distribution environment
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Solid math skills and ability to work with various units of measure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- Experience operating material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.)
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous warehouse experience required
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience required
- Hands-on experience in a fast-paced operational environment
- Exposure to lean principles is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Frequent use of hands, arms, and close vision
- Occasional bending, twisting, and reaching
