Job Title: Temporary Night-Shift Welder – Industrial Rail Welding
We are seeking experienced welders for a short-term industrial equipment installation project in Marshall, Michigan. The work primarily involves welding and reinforcing rail-related components within an automated warehouse system.
Work Schedule:
- Night shift: approximately 8:00 PM–5:00 AM
- Project duration: approximately 15 days
- Candidates must be available to work the full project schedule
- Additional work may be available depending on project progress and individual performance
Responsibilities:
- Perform welding work on equipment rail components according to drawings and site requirements
- Produce welds that meet project quality and strength requirements
- Grind and clean welded areas as required
- Follow all jobsite safety procedures and supervisor instructions
- Maintain good productivity while meeting quality standards
- Cooperate with site engineers and quality inspectors
Requirements:
- Previous professional welding experience is required
- Experience with industrial equipment, structural steel, racking, conveyor systems, or rail welding is preferred
- Ability to work approximately 8-hour night shifts
- Must bring and properly use required PPE
- Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite
- Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work efficiently with limited supervision
Paid Welding Trial:
Candidates will be required to complete a paid welding trial/skills assessment. Weld quality, efficiency, safety awareness, and ability to follow instructions will be evaluated.
Candidates who demonstrate satisfactory performance during the trial may be selected to continue working for the remainder of the approximately 15-day project.
Compensation:
- Pay: $50–$80 per hour, depending on experience
- The final hourly rate may be adjusted based on performance during the paid welding trial, including weld quality, efficiency, safety awareness, and ability to follow instructions
- Overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable law
