Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes according to internal data sheets.
- Monitor machine operations, adjusting tool offsets and parameters to meet engineering requirements.
- Load products into the machine centers.
- Prepare parts for first article inspection, verifying dimensions and tolerances.
- Measure finished products using precision measurement tools and compare results to documented specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and checks on machinery to ensure continuous operation and prevent breakdowns.
- Document production data and report any issues or deviations to supervisors.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment to prevent accidents.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as a CNC lathe operator in aerospace manufacturing is preferably.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Physical ability to lift 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and internal planning documents.
- Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills to resolve machine issues promptly.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report issues clearly.
- Attention to detail to identify and address quality defects during production.
- Knowledge of machine setup and programming is advantageous.
- Experience with Okuma controls or similar CNC control systems is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a pay range of $25-$35 per hour (DOE). Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, matching 401(k), paid time off, and holiday pay.
