Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the full financial oversight of an assigned client portfolio, moving beyond direct bookkeeping into review, reconciliation, and client relationship management. This role oversees the accuracy and completeness of work performed by bookkeeping staff, owns payroll and accounts payable processing for assigned clients, leads month-end close and financial reporting review, and serves as the primary point of client contact for their portfolio. The Senior Accountant also plays a key role in training team members and building the documented processes (SOPs) that allow KSL to scale.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management

- Review month-end close work performed by bookkeeping staff for accuracy, proper coding, and completeness

- Oversee bookkeeping staff assigned to each client, ensuring work is completed correctly and on schedule
- Escalate client or process issues to the Accounting Manager promptly, with context and a recommended path forward
Process Documentation & Training

- Train and mentor bookkeeping and VA staff on client-specific procedures and quality standards
- Maintain organized, well-labeled documentation and file structures (Dropbox, client contact records, accountant notes) so client history is accessible to the whole team
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in full-cycle bookkeeping with readiness to operate at a review and oversight level
- Working knowledge of nonprofit and/or accrual-basis accounting a plus
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Bill.com
- Strong written communication skills for direct client correspondence
