Job Summary
Barber County is seeking a Communications Director to manage and oversee the Barber County Emergency Communications Center operations and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee the day to day operations in dispatch
· Maintain adequate staff and manage department scheduling and training
· Review and maintain all certification and training files
· Responsible for department compliance with the policies, procedures, rules and regulations of NCIC, KCJIS, CJIS, KDOR, and NLETS
· Manage departmental budget and expenditures
· Develop and implement departmental policies and protocols
Required Qualifications
· Possess considerable knowledge of the equipment, procedures, and systems used in public safety telecommunications
· Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding employee and law enforcement matters
· Ability to think clearly and remain calm during stressful situations while selecting a logical, proficient, and tactical course of action
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous supervisory experience
· Previous dispatch/911 experience
