Overview
Elite EcoCare Services is building the crew for a cleaning services contract in Newport News Work begins April 2027 and this position is contingent on contract acquisition, expected in late 2026. We are identifying our Lead now so that person helps build the team they'll run.
If you're currently supervising housekeeping somewhere and you'd take a better situation for the right timing, this is a conversation worth having early.
What you'd do
- Run a crew of six housekeepers and one floor technician on a college campus
- Work alongside university housekeeping staff as a paired team
- Inspect completed work daily and keep the quality log
- Manage building keys and access — pick up daily, return daily, secure spaces
- Serve as the day-to-day contact for the university's contract administrator
- Clean alongside your crew — this is a working lead role, not a clipboard job
What we need
- Prior housekeeping or custodial supervisory experience
- Hands-on housekeeping experience — floors, restrooms, glass, appliances, detail work
- Able to speak and read English fluently (contract requirement)
- Reliable transportation and a cell phone
- Willing to pass a comprehensive background check *(details below)
- Comfortable with a schedule that includes weekends and overtime when scheduled
Schedule and pay
- Shifts fall between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
- Heaviest work runs late April through mid-August; year-round assignments as needed
- Hours are assigned as needed and are not guaranteed
- Overtime at time and a half beyond 40 hours in the scheduled workweek
- Company logo shirts provided. No jeans or open-toe footwear on site.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
