CIVIL ENGINEERING – DRAFTSMAN
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Draftsman to join our team. The Civil Draftsman will be responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, civil site plans, and design documentation in support of civil engineering projects. This role requires experience using Civil 3D for the development of plans related to site development, grading, utilities, roads, drainage, and other civil infrastructure projects.
The selected candidate will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure all drawings comply with the design intent, engineering standards, applicable codes, permitting requirements, and client specifications.
Ø Key Responsibilities:
The employee will perform at least, and not limited to, the following duties:
- Prepare and develop civil engineering drawings, layouts, site plans, grading plans, utility plans, drainage plans, road layouts, profiles, sections, and construction details.
- Use Civil 3D to prepare and modify civil design drawings and construction documents.
- Revise and update drawings based on engineering input, design changes, permitting comments, and coordination reviews.
- Assist in the preparation of design packages for client review, permitting, bidding, and construction use.
- Coordinate with civil engineers, project managers, architects, and other design disciplines to identify and resolve design conflicts.
- Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, applicable codes, project specifications, and client requirements.
- Interpret engineering sketches, survey information, design concepts, specifications, and field information.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date drawing files, CAD/BIM models, and design documentation.
- Incorporate comments from internal reviews, client feedback, and permitting agencies in a timely manner.
- Support document control procedures, drawing revisions, and version management
Ø Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, or Technical course in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
- More than five (5) years of experience preparing civil engineering drawings and construction documents.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D is required.
- Experience in civil site design, grading, utilities, drainage, roads, and infrastructure projects is required.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering drawings, symbols, drafting standards, and construction documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, survey information, and design concepts.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
- Ability to take direction from supervisors and coordinate with multiple disciplines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Transportation required with valid driver’s license.
- Willing to travel within the island, most of the time in the metro area.
