Join Phase One Gaming as a Retail Sales Associate and help create a welcoming, energetic environment for gamers of all experience levels. As a new gaming store, we are looking for dependable, friendly, and motivated team members who enjoy working with customers and are excited to help our business grow.
In this role, you will assist customers with purchasing games, trading cards, tabletop gaming products, and other merchandise while helping keep the store clean, organized, and inviting. Experience with Trading Card Games (TCGs), tabletop games, or the gaming community is preferred but not required. We are happy to work with candidates who are enthusiastic, willing to learn, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet every customer warmly and provide friendly, attentive, and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with selecting trading cards, tabletop games, accessories, and other gaming products based on their interests and needs.
- Learn about store products and upcoming releases so you can confidently answer customer questions and make recommendations.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for purchases, payments, receipts, and other transactions.
- Sort, organize, price, and maintain trading cards and other store inventory.
- Stock shelves and merchandise displays while keeping products organized, accessible, and visually appealing.
- Help maintain accurate inventory by completing stock checks and notifying management when products need to be restocked.
- Keep sales areas, gaming tables, counters, displays, and other store spaces clean and organized.
- Answer customer questions in person and over the phone in a helpful and professional manner.
- Assist with store events, game nights, tournaments, new product releases, and other activities as needed.
- Help create a welcoming environment where new and experienced players feel comfortable visiting, shopping, and participating.
- Work cooperatively with other team members to complete daily store tasks and support the continued growth of Phase One Gaming.
Experience
- Previous retail sales or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience or knowledge of Trading Card Games (TCGs), tabletop gaming, board games, or related products is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with games such as Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, or other collectible and tabletop games is a plus.
- Experience using POS systems, handling cash, or processing retail transactions is helpful.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Applicants should be friendly, approachable, patient, and comfortable assisting a variety of customers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are helpful when sorting cards, stocking merchandise, and maintaining inventory.
- Applicants must be dependable, willing to learn, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm for creating a great customer experience are highly valued.
