Position Title: Warehouse Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the operations of People's Choice Beef Jerky warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and distribution functions. This position ensures efficient warehouse operations while maintaining food safety, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and employee productivity. The Warehouse Manager leads warehouse personnel, coordinates with Production, Quality Control, Retail, Sales, and Packaging, and works closely with company ownership to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders and uninterrupted production support. This position requires strong leadership, organization, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Operations Management
- Direct and oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and distribution.
- Manage warehouse personnel to maximize efficiency.
- Ensure timely receiving, inspection, storage, rotation, and distribution of raw materials, packaging supplies, finished goods, and other inventory.
- Coordinate daily shipping schedules to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Maintain warehouse organization utilizing FIFO inventory practices.
- Monitor warehouse capacity and optimize storage utilization.
- Coordinate with production to ensure raw materials and packaging supplies are available to support production schedules.
- Maintain warehouse equipment and coordinate repairs or preventive maintenance as needed.
- Assist ownership with ordering warehouse supplies, shipping materials, pallets, and operational equipment.
- Identify and implement warehouse process improvements that increase efficiency, productivity, and inventory accuracy.
- Maintain accurate warehouse records and documentation according to State and Local regulations.
2. Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory levels for all raw materials, packaging supplies, finished product, retail inventory, and warehouse supplies.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure deliveries and finished products are accurately entered into the company inventory systems.
- Manage inventory movements and communicate shortages or excess inventory to ownership.
- Assist with forecasting warehouse storage needs based on production and sales demands.
- Maintain proper lot traceability and inventory documentation to support food safety requirements.
3. Shipping and Receiving
- Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Ensure all deliveries received are verified for quality, quantity, and accuracy.
- Coordinate freight scheduling with carriers and customers.
- Maintain shipping records, bills of lading, and receiving documentation organized.
- Ensure customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
- Work with Customer Service and Marketing to prioritize urgent customer shipments when necessary.
4. Safety and Compliance Management
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP, and company food safety standards.
- Enforce all warehouse safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and address hazards promptly.
- Ensure proper sanitation and housekeeping practices throughout the warehouse.
- Train warehouse employees on safety procedures, equipment operation, food safety requirements, and emergency response protocols.
- Maintain required safety records, inspections, and documentation.
- Participate in internal and external audits and work closely with HR to implement corrective actions as required.
5. Leadership and Team Development
- Interview, train, and develop warehouse employees.
- Schedule staff to meet operational requirements.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Address employee performance issues professionally and consistently.
- Foster a positive work environment focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Lead by example through active participation in daily warehouse operations.
6. Communication and Cross-Department Collaboration
- Collaborate with Production, Packaging, Marketing, Quality Control, Retail, Operations, and Customer Service to ensure efficient operations.
- Communicate inventory issues, shipping concerns, and operational challenges to ownership.
- Participate in production planning and operational meetings.
- Provide recommendations to improve warehouse efficiency and customer service.
- Support special projects and company initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Management experience in food manufacturing, preferably in meat processing.
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Food Science, Business, or equivalent experience (preferred, not required).
- Knowledge of meat and/or meat products (preferred, not required).
- Experience with WMS or ERP systems
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, USDA, OSHA regulations, and other common food safety programs and protocols.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools (preferred, not required).
- Strong computer skills or willingness to learn.
- Strong mathematical skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement) or willingness to learn.
- Strong ability to digitally capture, log, and analyze data for reports and presentations.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively lead, develop, and manage a diverse workforce in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Bilingual in Spanish (required).
Physical Demands
- Occasionally assist with lifting/moving up to 55 lbs when needed.
- Stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Perform occasional repetitive movements while assisting, including pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, twisting, sitting, standing, climbing, and walking (up to 8 hours).
- Frequently walk along production lines (up to 8 hours).
- Occasionally participate in production line activities when necessary to support staff, troubleshoot issues, or demonstrate best practices—without losing focus on responsibilities
- Work in cold, hot, and wet production environments.
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts, high temperatures, and chemical exposure
Work Environment
- Cold and wet production areas with moderate to high noise levels.
- Work carefully around food processing and mixing equipment, including tables, carts (racks), fans, ovens, and walk-in coolers.
- Heat: Moderate exposure to oven heat for brief intervals.
- Hazard: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, exposure to high temperatures, or exposure to chemicals.
Overtime Notice
- As an exempt, salaried position, the Warehouse Supervisor is expected to work the hours necessary to fulfill leadership responsibilities, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational demands.

- Compensation: $85,000 - $115,000 annual salary, depending on experience
- Classification: Full-time | Exempt | Permanent
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:30 PM
- Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.
