- Demonstrate safety leadership and uphold ExxonMobil’s safety culture ensuring No Spills and the Nobody Gets Hurt, both in the office and if required, on the rig site.
- Strong understanding of integrated pore pressure prediction and pressure surveillance
- Strong understanding of site investigation including shallow drilling hazards evaluation (tophole prognosis) and riserless drilling geohazards
- Well planning and surveillance (may include but not limited to):
- Coordinate with the Wells organization and the project Petrophysicist in the contract technical evaluation for MWD/LWD, Wireline, and Mud Logging services (Procurement & Tendering)
- Evaluate technical services and compile cost estimates for Wellsite Geology, Wellsite Biostratigraphy, Core Handling/Preservation and Analysis, and wellsite data management services as needed
- Compile and document Well Objectives, Formation Evaluation plan, operations & communication protocols, and data/sample distribution into a Geological Program
- Compile well and evaluation plan information in support of Company regulatory groups (Regulatory)
- Participate/lead regular coordination and planning meetings with the Wells and Geoscience Teams
- Facilitate and communicate with Wells Engineers and project Geologists to produce a well plan and casing design which will enable complete evaluation of geologic objectives whilst maintaining an economic and cost-effective solution
- Design and establishment of casing seat and TD selection protocols, coring and formation evaluation programs.
- Supervision, logistical and technical support of Wellsite Geologic personnel (Wellsite Geologists, Service Company personnel) to gather complete, high quality geologic data sets as specified.
- QC and local loading, storage, and archival of all relevant electronic and physical data using systematic file naming and organization.
- Capture lessons learned for future operational improvements
- Assist, if necessary, in wellsite-based activities, including selection of casing seats, Geosteering (using Azimuthal Ultra Deep Resistivity), and supervision of conventional coring and wireline logging programs.
- Review and analysis of geologic evaluation programs and service company performance on a well-by-well or monthly/quarterly basis to identify and address areas with room for improvement.
- Compile and distribute final well reports, logs, and supporting documents to all parties in a timely fashion.
- Presenting technical work to Subsurface and Wells teams including but not limited to TD protocol reviews, pre-spud meetings and after-action reviews (AAR).
