EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position focuses on reviewing technical applications, developing permit documents, and supporting programs that protect the Commonwealth’s water resources. As our Environmental Engineering Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Application Review: Evaluate PennVest, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems, and Part II permit applications for technical accuracy and complianceEffluent Analysis: Develop effluent limits and prepare supporting documents based on water quality standardsTechnical Coordination: Work with municipalities, agencies, and specialists to address permit requirements and program needsField Inspection: Conduct site visits to assess facilities, verify construction, and support application evaluationReport Preparation: Create technical reports, draft permits, deficiency letters, and supporting documentationData Management: Maintain records, complete system entries, and support tracking of permit activitiesInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
