We are a reputable, fast-paced, private optometry practice with offices in Overland Park and Gardner, KS. We are seeking a dependable OPTOMETRIC TECHNICIAN who can work approximately 35-40 hours per week. Must be able to work 8-10 hour shifts, with flexible hours between 6:30 am and 6:30pm Monday thru Friday. This position is being filled for primarily the Overland Park Office, although applicant must be able to commute to both offices (if needed, not on the same day).
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Preparing exam rooms
- Pre-testing patients (including: auto-refractor, visual fields, acuities, tonometry, blood pressure, fundus photography, and OCT)
- Interviewing patients for a complete medical history
- Utilizing electronic medical records
- Training patients on the proper use and care of contact lenses
- Cross-trained position - might also gain experience as Receptionist and/or Optician
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good listener, critical thinker, creative problem solving
- Outstanding communication skills
- Computer literate, ability to type at least 50 words per minute
- Must excel in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Reliable, hard working, enthusiastic, team player
- Confident, self-starter
- Experience in the healthcare industry required; eye care industry preferred
- With excellent references and proven work history
